Are you toxic?
Did you know your home may be one of the most toxic environments you ever step foot in? Every day we surround ourselves with chemicals and other toxic substances (oftentimes unknowingly). We eat them, bring them home, and cover our bodies with them…all without a moment’s hesitation. These toxins lead to inflammation, cancers, hormonal imbalances, immune disorders, skin irritations, and asthma; and yet many of us are still unaware of this issue or know what to do about it.
Sources of Toxicity
Processed foods are full of chemicals and additives.
Conventionally grown produce is covered in herbicides and pesticide!
There are over 140 contaminants in tap water, including pharmaceuticals (antibiotics,
anti-depressants, birth control pills, seizure medication, cancer treatments,
pain killers, tranquilizers and cholesterol-lowering compounds).
Beauty and Personal Care Products
The products we use to look our best may actually be the biggest source of
aging and other adverse symptoms.
This includes things you might expect like: second hand smoke,
exhaust fumes, and other poisonous chemicals. But don't forget things like:
mothballs, pressed wood Products, carpets, lead paint, BPA, flame retardants,
air fresheners and cleaning solutions.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that up to
90% of all illness and disease is due to stress. Stress can kill the good
bacteria and yeast that are designed to support your immune system
and keep your digestive health strong.
People and Lifestyle
Who are your friends? Are they kind or catty? Supportive or high drama?
And what is your schedule like? Are you always trying to multi-task,
rushing from event to event? Or is there time to sit and enjoy a meal,
go for a walk, read a book, or even sleep in on occasion?
These things matter!
